Louise Heymans was born in Cologne, Germany in 1984. Since 2004 she has been studiing Illustration at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. Currently she works there as a Student Assistant for Professor Ellen Sturm in the print studio. Her main interests are the various possibilities of etching but she has also worked in woodcut and lithography. She is especially fascinated by Mezzotinto. In this technique she has created artists books in black and white as well as in colours. Having participated in several group exhibitions she is also represented in the artists book collection of the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg and the Klingspor Museum in Offenbach.
